ASR Diplomat of the Breed – Paddyngton’s Mark Of Distinction
ASR Diplomat Of The Breed - December 2018
Paddyngton’s Mark Of Distinction
We are honored to announce that the December 2018 ASR Diplomat of the Breed is Paddyngton’s Mark Of Distinction (119564G). The 11-year-old chestnut pinto gelding by CHEl Cortez has been making a name for himself ever since he started his Parade Horse journey. Bought as a three-year-old by Holly Armstrong from Patty Bates of Paddyngton Farm in Michigan, he began his career showing in the park pleasure and park divisions. With a parade enthusiast as an owner and trainer, he would quickly find the division where he would earn his fame and platform to be a superstar American Saddlebred breed promoter. Known to his family and fans as “Marcus,” this month’s Diplomat of the Breed is recognized for sporting his Parade silver and representing the breed across the country.
“Marcus” made his first recorded appearance in parade tack in 2011, in just three short years he would earn the honor only eight other American Saddlebred horses in history had ever accomplished. In 2014 “Marcus” was immortalized as a Silver Anniversary Edition Breyer Horse model. The model horse was unveiled at that year’s Breyerfest, and “Marcus” was present to be shown to the crowd. From that day on “Marcus” and Holly have a fan club where ever they travel.
“Marcus” is a true Ambassador of the American Saddlebred and has introduced our wonderful breed to thousands through expos, demonstrations, meet and greets, parades, TV, and newspapers. Through his beautiful exhibitions and his superb personality, he leaves every new fan he meets with a love for the American Saddlebred horse. “Marcus” is always the first choice for color presentations, and at any show, they are competing they graciously take the time and effort to present the flag for an opening ceremony. He was the first Parade Horse ever to grace The Rolex Arena at the Kentucky Horse Park when he made the Colors presentation for the 82nd Annual Junior League Charity Show during the Friday & Saturday evening ceremonies.
Paddyngton’s Mark Of Distinction (119564G) is a current leader in publically recognized American Saddlebred horses. He has been recognized by one of his local State Senators for his accomplishments as a star in the equestrian world. In addition to his Breyer model, he is on the cover of Amazon’s #1 coloring book "I Dream Horses". It is with great pride that “Marcus” and his Meadow Reflection Farm connections do all they do to "Share the Saddlebred." They will have an impact on the breed and the public for many years to come: a diplomat, an ambassador, and a testament to the breed we are thankful for the dedication and time he and his connections put forth to bring the American Saddlebred to the people. In the spirit of the holiday season maybe a Paddyngton’s Mark Of Distinction model horse or coloring book should be at the top of your wish list!
You can also follow “Marcus” along with his thousands of fans on his Facebook page.
